In late 2018, the course emerged from a full-scale renovation by renowned golf course architect Rees Jones. Inspiring players of all levels, the course offers an extraordinary golf experience that honors its heritage and seaside location with contemporary playability.

Inheriting the original layout designed by Alexander H. Findlay in 1897, Jones’ makeover of the Ocean Course took inspiration from The Breakers’ philosophy of balancing preservation and modernization. 

A rich variety of contours, shapes and depths, along with all new salt-tolerant grass and unique water features, help bring the Ocean Course to an exciting and challenging new level. According to Jones, “every hole has a different little twist and different set of details.” Beckoning talent from near and far, players will be charmed with manicured landscapes and an occasional glimpse of the Atlantic.

Bike Tour

Come explore the playground of the who’s who while uncovering an equally outstanding, but lesser-known, natural beauty that occupies this one-of-a-kind barrier island. Pedal the shoreline bike trail beside Lake Worth, where the calm waters of the Intercoastal Waterway host colorful tropical fish and a wide variety of the elegant waterbirds of South Florida.

Admire the historic early-20th-century estates, nearly hidden among a curtain of huge trees, brilliant tropical flowers, and “walking” mangroves. Enjoy stellar views of Whitehall mansion, the final home of Gilded Age tycoon and “Father of Florida,” industrialist Henry M. Flagler. Then head down the grand promenade to The Breakers, Flagler’s most opulent hotel that overlooks the aqua waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Wrap up your bike adventure on the prestigious Worth Avenue.
