Derek Betlejewski, MPG Sales Executive
Derek Betlejewski began his professional career as an environmental scientist / chemist for Clean Harbors Environmental out of Braintree, MA. Derek was responsible for the management and disposal of hazardous and chemical wastes for manufacturing facilities, municipalities, and local government. Derek also headed up Clean Harbors Household Hazardous Waste Clean-up operations in the Midwest.
Derek spent five years working with Severn Trent Laboratories. Severn Trent Laboratories is an international environmental laboratory specializing in analytical testing for the environmental compliance industry. Derek’s clients consisted of Fortune 500 companies such at US Steel, Chrysler, GM, Eli Lilly and Alcoa. Derek also managed clients from local government, manufacturing, engineering, and remediation. Derek was responsible for the Chicagoland area, Southwestern Michigan, and the state of Indiana.
Over the past eighteen years Derek has worked with Direct Energy, Reliant Energy, Champion Energy covering PJM & MISO territories, and now Mansfield Power and Gas. Derek’s primary focus was natural gas & electricity however over the past three years it’s exclusively natural gas. Derek manages his client’s needs by recommending optimal times throughout the year to procure natural gas based upon their usage requirements, market conditions, risk tolerance, and budget strategy. Derek communicates with his clients regularly to understand any changes in their consumption patterns, to minimize any unnecessary risk and to make sure gas is appropriately nominated on their behalf.
Derek graduated from Northeastern University in Chicago with a degree in Environmental Sciences & Anthropology.
